Obtaining enough sample weight of tissue from a fish (or other wildlife species) for metal and elemental analysis typically results in its sacrifice. In line with our vision of non-lethal and non-invasive sampling, where possible, TrichAnalytics Inc. has developed a new method for tissue analysis. A simple biopsy needle is enough to provide more than enough soft tissue for our unique analysis. Don’t worry about quality when analyzing micro-sized samples! We still obtain precise, accurate metal and elemental concentrations, without compromising on the detection limits. We require approximately 50 mg of tissue, compared to the >5,000 mg (>5 g) required by conventional metal analysis. The Metal Mining Environmental Effects Monitoring Technical Guidance Document supports the use of non-lethal approaches to obtain fish tissue concentrations. Save the fish today #SaveTheFish
